POPULAR established Italian restaurant Pasta Di Piazza Italiana is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment for Spring 2016

Doors closed and work began this week on the Stone High Street eatery, which has been a popular venue in the town for many years and prides itself on its customer service and quality fresh ingredients sourced from local producers.

The exciting transformation represents a £3/4m investment into the business by owner Jigar Gheewala, and is expected to create additional full and part-time jobs in both the Stone and Newcastle restaurants, which will both undergo a total facelift.

The new look is the brainchild of Staffordshire firm DV Architects Limited, whose senior interior designer Samantha White has pulled together the plans for both sites.

She said: “We’ve worked to create a really fresh, stylish, rustic, yet relaxing environment at Pasta Di Piazza Italiana which should deliver both a professional and welcoming experience for diners.

“Both restaurants will have a similar look and feel. The colour schemes are very contemporary, and we’ve also injected some great touches of Italian personality and style into the design, including our own unique reference to the famous frescoed ceiling in the Sistine Chapel.”

With the addition of a landscaped outdoor space and a new conservatory, the restaurant will be able to seat around 180 diners and will include a 38-seater private dining area which is perfect for party bookings.

Restaurant manager, Antonio da Silva, said his staff are looking forward to welcoming customers back when the restaurant reopens from March 21st.

He said: “Many of our customers are regulars, they’re like family, and we can’t wait to open the doors to them again and hear their thoughts about the exciting changes we’re making.

“From floor to ceiling everything is being refreshed – it really will have the WOW factor.”
